(What do you mean, 'you're late'?)
Last weekend I visited Helsinki Book Fair 2009. :3 It wasn't really a convention but Cosplay Finland Tour arranged World Cosplay Summit preliminaries there so I guess you could say that the event had something to do with cosplay. I didn't participate in the preliminaries but I took part in the other category, "Cosplay Show", as Tatiana Wisla from Last Exile. My partner in crime, ~Elzy-Zen, also participated in that category. She cosplayed Meowth (/Nyaasu) from Pokémon.

Book Fair is kind of nostalgic event for me because my first masquerade experience takes place in it. This year I was reunited with many guys who had taken part in Cosplay Show -category last year and oh my, it was fun seeing those faces again and see how everyone had improved as cosplayers a lot during the year! I had also a lot of fun with ~Elzy-Zen and my friends *Dashiana and ~SoPansy who were accompanying us. Because of Meowth's limited eyesight and movement capacity I had to hold her hand and lead her wherever we were going at the time. XD;

I was excited but not nearly as much as I was last year. I felt actually very comfortable on the stage. After I had performed, me, ~Elzy-Zen and Tinde-chan sat down and watched the preliminaries and last year's World Cosplay Summit winners YuRiE performing. After the show there was a break for an hour in order to give the jury time to make their decision.

So, we sat down in the hall again and the judges started to announce the results of both the cosplay show and WCS preliminaries, I was very happy to hear that ~Elzy-Zen got Judge's Honorary Mention award for her costume! I was happy for my friend but it wasn't long until the next Award was announced. I heard the announcer saying that another Honorary Mention was given to "the contestant number twelve" and I had to check my number and re-check it again in order to believe what had just happened. X,D So, I got my first award and I was so happy when joining the stage with my friend. 8>
And of course, congratulations to the winners of Finland's WCS preliminaries! I wish you the best of luck!

The best possible end for my cosplay year 2009. Now I will have to wait at least three months for next event. However, I have already started to make a new costume for a school event (Penkkarit). Nothing new, is it.

I just wanted to note that my Livejournal-account ([link]) has underwent a couple of changes. There will be more public and cosplay related entries than before and I will also be writing in English.

I would also be very amused if I had a chance to expand my friends list. Please note me if you happen to have an account you want to share with me. 8>

Järjestelemässä Tales of the Abyss-aiheista cosplayryhmää ensi vuoden kesälle, alustavasti mitä ilmeisimmin Tracon V:hen. Alustavasti siksi, koska mitään pitäviä päivämääriä ei ole vielä ilmoitettu.

Porukkaan saa ilomielin ilmoittautua mukaan ja allekirjoittanutta saa - ja pitääkin - korjata, mikäli journalissa ilmenee epämääräistä tahi vanhentunutta informaatiota, tahdotte vaihtaa hahmoanne tai irtisanoutua porukasta.

Ryhmän tarkoitus ei ole saavuttaa mainetta ja kunniaa, vaan lähinnä hyviä valokuvia ja hyviä muistoja samanhenkisten ihmisten keskuudessa. Meillä on kuitenkin melkein vuosi käytössämme, joten ohjelmaa ei tarvitse vielä pitkiin aikoihin päättää. Ehdotuksia saa kuitenkin esittää.

I took part in the solo masquerade as Judge Magister Gabranth (Final Fantasy XII) on Saturday and on Sunday I was dressed up as Sha Gojyo (Saiyuki). Nothing special to say. Long story short; I had fun.
